Lipedema Pictures
Where are your pictures?
This is, perhaps, one of the most common questions I get asked.
Other people put their Lipedema results online and we do not see very many pictures from you. Do you really know what you’re doing?
I have been performing liposuction surgery, tummy tux, arm lifts, style lifts, tummy tucks, for over 20 years.
Majority of the Lipedema patient pictures I see on the Internet are stage one, maybe stage two.
These patients require one or two smaller surgeries, and their legs and lower torso looks perfect. Patients are happy and proud to share their results.
To be honest, I have a hard time separating stage one lipedema surgery from regular liposuction results.
These are not the patients that I see. Majority of my patients have 30, 50 or hundred pounds of extra fat on their lower body.
Majority of them will have to have four or six surgeries every three months. Some of my patients who required multiple surgeries, has been with me for over 2 1/2 years now.
The first total body improvement results we get about three years after the first surgery because that’s when most of the swelling is gone.
We do have some pictures and we do share them to the best of our ability in the office. Also, we’re able to provide you with references and you are most welcome to speak to our former patient who are willing to do that.
Some of our patients are very conscious of their interim appearance in between the surgeries.
We tried to be very transparent, and we initially posted our first stage results on the Internet.
In some of the surgeries the patient had 20 or 30 pounds removed in one session. Obviously, that resulted in large number of folds and extra skin.
Unfortunately, general public was not understanding that these are results before the skin excision on very large patients.
We started to receive phone calls from our existing patients who felt offended by derogatory comments of the general public related to their pictures and therefore we decided to remove them from public view.
Currently we are slowly adding the pictures to our web site. Stay tuned or come to the office.
