Diagnosing Venous Insufficiency
What Would You Do If Your Legs Didn’t Hurt?
The worst thing about leg pain is that it keeps you from living your best life. Chronic leg pain can slow you down… steal your energy… Are you losing time playing with your kids or time going out with your friends?
Dr Daniels and the Vascular team at ASA can help.
A simple, non-invasive 20-minute test – will show if circulation issues are causing your leg pain. When the blood in your body isn’t moving around as quickly as it needs to, it can be painful. Circulation problems often go undiagnosed, but once the issue is clear, the road to total lasting relief is achievable.
A Vascular Ultrasound Can Change Your Life
•
1 out of every 10 Americans reports being in pain regularly.
•
40% of Americans report that they have significant leg pain (including cramps, charley horses, and restless legs) at least 3 times per week.
•
Nearly 60% of people who have chronic pain report that they’ve seen multiple doctors in attempt to discover the cause.
Chronic, unexplained leg pain is not normal. Being on your feet all day shouldn’t leave you feeling terrible. It’s time to make some changes. A Vascular Ultrasound is a completely safe and non-invasive diagnostic procedure that can be used to identify some of the most common causes of unexplained pains and physical symptoms impacting your daily activities
In order to accurately diagnose Chronic Venous Insufficiency, Dr. Daniels will perform a complete history and physical examination, and along with our Vascular team, perform a quick, noninvasive Vascular Ultrasound to examine your blood’s circulation through images of your leg vessels.
For more severe cases, a Venogram may also be performed to diagnose venous insufficiency in the legs. During a venogram, an intravenous (IV) contrast dye is injected into the veins. This dye causes your blood vessels to appear opaque on an X-ray thereby allowing for a better view of your veins.
Get Your Life Back & Start Having Fun Again
The treatment for venous insufficiency – by far the most common circulation problem that causes leg pain – is a safe, simple outpatient procedure that takes about 30 minutes. After treatment, patients walk out of our office and right back to their normal routine. With just an elastic wrap (similar to an ACE bandage) to wear for 24 hours after the procedure – you will instantly see how much better life is when your legs don’t hurt all the time.
