Treatments & Procedures
Minimally Invasive Peripheral Revascularization are catheter-based treatments to improve your circulation. These procedures result in less pain and scarring and a quicker recovery time. Performed under local anesthesia, we perform endovascular revascularization to clear blockages in the arteries and remove the plaque that is causing decreased blood flow. This alleviates the pain and stops the tissue decay/loss associated with lower extremity PAD.
Angioplasty and Stenting
To help open a narrow or blocked blood vessel, we can perform angioplasty and stenting during a procedure. A Balloon Angioplasty temporarily stretches out the blood vessel, by inserting a tiny balloon that is inflated into the blocked artery to improve flow. Stenting is performed to permanently hold the blood vessel open.
Atherectomy is performed to decrease the amount of plaque in an artery, creating more room for blood flow. A laser catheter might be used in some cases to vaporize the plaque. Many times this is performed in conjunction with Angioplasty and Stenting.
Varicose Vein Treatment also known as RFA uses radiofrequency energy to cauterize and close varicose veins in the legs…. Radiofrequency ablation is safe, less invasive than conventional surgery, and leaves virtually no scars.
Minimally invasive, nonsurgical Injection of Foam Sclerosant. Varithena does not require any incisions or general anesthesia. It usually takes the doctor less than an hour to administer. a small amount is administered by direct injection into the malfunctioning vein. The Varithena microfoam fills and treats the desired section of the vein. The diseased vein collapses and the microfoam is deactivated.
Endovascular embolization is used to treat abnormal blood vessels found in areas of your body. It blocks blood vessels to cut off blood flow to an affected area. Most common are uterine fibroids. A catheter is inserted through the femoral artery and guided through your body’s circulatory system using X-rays.
When the catheter reaches the location of the abnormality to be treated, material is injected to seal your blood vessel.
A thrombectomy is a procedure used to remove blood clots from arteries and veins. Blood clots can disrupt the normal flow of blood to a part of the body, causing life-threatening conditions such as pulmonary embolism or an acute stroke. An endovascular thrombectomy is the removal of a thrombus (blood clot) under image guidance.
