Dermal Filler Treatments in New JerseyFor many, working hard to battle the visual effects of aging, deep wrinkles, or a loss of formerly plump skin acts as a constant reminder of what they are up against. As we age our skin loses elasticity and becomes thinner. Lines and wrinkles become more pronounced and once plump cheeks and lips can look sallow and thin. No one wants that sunken, wrinkled look!
Am I a candidate for dermal fillers?
Ideal candidates for dermal fillers are those who would like to improve the appearance of facial lines around the nose, mouth and forehead as well as enhancing the shape and size of lips. Dermal fillers can also help reduce the appearance of scars caused by acne.
What are my options for dermal fillers?
There are many types of Dermal Fillers on the market today. In our practice we offer several options proven to give outstanding results. All of our dermal filler treatments take between 15-30 minutes and the results are immediate. The results are also longer lasting compared to collagen and fat injections, lasting up to 9 months.
JUVÉDERM® is filler that relies on hyaluronic acid (which is a natural substance found in the human body) instead of collagen to plump up the skin.
Hyaluronic acid is responsible for delivering and maintaining moisture as well as nutrient levels in the skin cells. Unfortunately as time progresses the body’s ability to produce hyaluronic acid decreases. This is where JUVÉDERM®comes into place. JUVÉDERM® will replenish your body of hyaluronic acid and help achieve the youthful appearance you want.
While also consisting of Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid (NASHA) like JUVÉDERM®, Restylane® is administered with a very fine needle. Restylane® is carefully injected along the treatment area — wrinkles, folds, lips, scars. While it is not a painful procedure, a local or topical anesthetic can be used in conjunction with the injections.
Radiesse® is a synthetic form of a natural mineral found in our bones — calcium hydroxylapatite. Radiesse® is a safe and effective treatment that rarely causes allergic or rejecting reactions.
The calcium hydroxylapatite is suspended in an aqueous gel — this keeps it soft and allows it to be transferred to the face as a liquid-like substance. Because it doesn’t get absorbed by the surrounding tissues, Radiesse® has the potential to last a person for a lifetime. Some do need touch up treatments, but when compared to the every-three-months regimen required for collagen injections, the amount of maintenance for Radiesse® hardly even counts.
