Mini abdominoplasty, or mini tummy tuck, is a smaller version of traditional tummy tuck surgery.
It is designed to improve the shape of the lower portion of the abdomen, from the bellybutton down. It may include just skin tightening, or it can be combined with tightening of the muscles of the lower abdomen.
The incision for mini tummy tuck is usually similar to traditional abdominoplasty, or a little bit smaller. In patients who previously had C-section surgery, the incision is slightly longer than their C-section scar. The skin is lifted up to the level of bellybutton. The underlying muscle may be tightened at the same time. The extra skin is pulled down and removed for tighter and slimmer look. Stretch marks in that area can also be removed with extra skin.
Mini tummy Tuck, or mini abdominoplasty, surgery is designed to improve the shape of the lower portion of the abdomen. It can be combined with liposuction of the lower and upper abdomen. For the patients who have good quality of upper abdominal skin and who just have a small pooch in the lower portion of their abdomen, it can be a perfect procedure.
In most cases, mini tummy tuck, or mini abdominoplasty procedure, does not require general anesthesia and can be done with local anesthesia and sedation on an outpatient basis.
